Big Blind

BIG BLIND is a young, rockin’ (rhythm ‘n) blues band from beach resort Noordwijk in The Netherlands, founded in fall 2006. Initially influenced by acts like Howlin’ Wolf, the Vaughan Brothers, The Red Devils, The Hoax, and labelmates Cuban Heels, they soon developed their own exciting style, using elements from various roots genres. With their punky attitude, they simply rock the blues, hitting the listener in both stomach and heart.

These young guns managed to get a record deal with Cool Buzz, home of alternative roots and blues, within their first year of existence, and released their debut album “Dressed To Win”, consisting of originals only in November 2007.  It got raving reviews in all relevant Benelux music magazines and many dailies.
Within a few months, the gig list was as impressive, as if they’d been around for years. Confirmations from major festivals like Bluesrock Tegelen, Ribs & Blues and even the Belgian Rhythm & Blues Festival in Peer  (one of Europe’s biggest blues festivals) amongst them. Early 2008 Big Blind performed live at Radio 3, one of Holland’s major national radio stations, appealing to a young audience. Very rare for a blues act. June 2008 saw the band performing at the Linton Music Festival in the UK on invitation, as the organizers were blown away by one of their festival performances!
In spring 2009 Big Blind made their first national TV appearance in one of Holland’s most popular TV shows “Raymann Is Laat”. Their second album “Circus Left Town”, released end of May 2009 shows an adventurous band that has matured a great deal, and offers a variety of roots styles. July 2009 Big Blind performs at the prestigious Breminale festival in Germany.
